Musical Director

Mark Stanley

Mark lives and works in South Oxfordshire. Born in 1966, his early years as a chorister led to a passion for the Church and its music and an introduction to the organ. He is now a committed church musician playing both organ and piano and has held the post of Director of Music and Organist at the parish church of St. Peter, Didcot since 1995.

Mark is an experienced singing teacher, working in schools and providing private lessons to children and adults alike. He is a member of The Association of Teachers of Singing (AOTOS).

Mark has performed and worked with several choirs and societies across the UK. Locally he is also Musical Director of two gospel choirs.

BlewSing, established in 2011,

began as a Gospel Choir under the energetic and enthusiastic direction of Lizzie Butler.

In 2013 when Mark Stanley took up the baton the Choir began to sing a wider variety of genres, from Gospel and Traditional American to Musical Theatre and Popular songs.

Clive Grant continued in this vein from 2015, greatly extending our repertoire over several years until recently relocating to France.

We are delighted that Mark Stanley has agreed to return as our Musical Director from September 2021.

The choir always sings for pleasure and from time to time we enjoy working towards a polished performance.
